UW MEDICINE IT SERVICES has an outstanding job opportunity for a SharePoint Migration Specialist.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A TEMPORARY NON-BENEFITTED POSITION THAT IS EXPECTED TO LAST APPROXIMATELY 5 MONTHS.

WORK SCHEDULE
  • 40 hours/week
  • Monday - Friday; Core hours for UW Medicine IT Services are 8:00 - 5:00 (PST)

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The SharePoint Online migration is an enterprise project that affects all of UW Medicine. Over 1,800 sites for hundreds of customers need to be transitioned. Our customers have customized their sites in many ways, which makes migration even more challenging. The team has developed a runbook to migrate the sites, which includes custom routines, ShareGate functionality, and manual tasks to perform site migrations.
  • Communicate with customers throughout the migration process as individual sites are migrated
  • Implement the runbooks developed by Software Solutions team to migrate sites from 2019 to SharePoint Online
  • Validate there are no errors from the migration
  • Correct errors that are found by the customer
  • Report to team leaders on progress of their migrations

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • SharePoint Online Site Owner-level expertise - Candidates must be able to create and manage SharePoint sites, build and update pages, configure web parts, design layouts, and maintain site content.
  • Deep knowledge of SharePoint lists - Ability to create, manage, and update lists, including configuring columns, views, filters, and data entry forms; understanding how lists interact with other SharePoint features.
  • Strong understanding of SharePoint permissions - Must be able to configure site, library, and list permissions; manage user access; apply permission levels appropriately to maintain security and compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams and Office 365 - Ability to navigate, collaborate, and integrate SharePoint Online within the Office 365 suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Able to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment - Comfortable with joint problem solving, task sharing, and supporting colleagues.
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines - Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and deliver work on schedule.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems - Capable of navigating and troubleshooting within Windows environments.
  • Ability to perform computer-based work for extended periods - Work will require sustained focus and attention to detail.


PREFERRED / NICE TO HAVE
  • Experience as a SharePoint Administrator, including site collection management, configuration, and governance
  • Experience creating workflows and applications using Power Automate and/or Power Apps
  • Familiarity with ShareGate or other SharePoint migration tools
  • Coding or scripting experience (any language, e.g., JavaScript, PowerShell)
  • Experience with SharePoint 2019 and hybrid SharePoint environments

Pay Range Minimum:
$41.00 hourly
