Task Manager serves as the lead coordinator and integrator for a dispersed team supporting the DDG 51 Program. This role manages configuration and data management functions, class standard equipment oversight, design engineering coordination, and financial analysis activities across multiple locations, including Washington, D.C., Bath, ME, and Pascagoula, MS. The Task Manager ensures alignment with Navy program requirements, oversees cross-functional workload distribution, and supports the resolution of high-visibility technical, contractual, and programmatic issues.
In this role, you will:Team Leadership & Oversight- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary support team consisting of configuration analysts, data management analysts, information support personnel, class design engineering management staff, and financial analysts located across three geographic sites.
- Oversee division tasking for:
- Configuration Management (CM)
- Data Management (DM) of CDRLs and government Integrated Database Environments (IDEs)
- Class Standard Equipment (CSE)
- Design Engineering coordination
- Financial analysis and trend evaluation
- Ensure balanced workload distribution and successful completion of customer-directed priorities.
Technical & Programmatic Coordination- Prepare and maintain shipbuilder multi-year procurement (MYP) configuration baselines.
- Develop, interpret, and enforce DD Form 1423 data requirements.
- Support database modernization efforts and ensure alignment with ongoing IT/environmental updates.
- Maintain Navy oversight of vendor CSE purchase specifications and compliance.
- Analyze contract-specific trends in engineering design and financial performance.
Stakeholder Engagement & Issue Resolution- Maintain direct interface with DDG 51 stakeholders and support resolution of technical or programmatic issues.
- Assist division leads in addressing high-visibility, complex, or emergent challenges requiring coordinated subject-matter expertise.
- Participate in recurring Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings covering CM, DM, CSE, design engineering, and financial topics.
Deliverables, Documentation & Process Improvement- Develop integrated briefings and presentations using input from multiple task areas to support customer discussions and decision-making.
- Assist in drafting, updating, and maintaining PMS 400D Instructions to ensure consistent program processes.
- Ensure the incorporation of current DoD and Navy Instructions into all relevant deliverables, products, and workflows.
Task & Project Integration- Coordinate projects and initiatives impacting the Task and PMS 400D, ensuring alignment across functional areas.
- Provide expertise on DoD contract structures, terminology, standards enforcement, and compliance.
Administrative & Logistical Support- Coordinate quarterly customer-directed travel, including TARs, VARs, and Trip Reports.
- Manage badge requests, building access, and account maintenance for team members.
- Ensure CACs, NMCI accounts, and associated credentials remain active and updated.
- Support cross-program coordination to maintain timely access, communication flow, and overall readiness.
To be successful in this role you will have:- Active Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in Navy program support, defense contracting, configuration/data management, systems engineering, or related technical fields
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary teams across distributed locations and coordinating complex technical and programmatic activities
- Strong understanding of DoD acquisition processes, contract structure, DD Form 1423 requirements, CDRLs, and standards enforcement
- Proven ability to address high-visibility or complex issues, integrating input from engineering, financial, and configuration/data management domains
- Excellent communication, briefing, and stakeholder-coordination skills, including experience preparing integrated briefs and supporting senior-level discussions
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage workload balancing, cross-task coordination, account maintenance (CAC/NMCI), access requirements, and travel documentation
- Familiarity with Navy and DoD instructions relevant to CM, DM, CSE oversight, program documentation, and deliverables
- Ability to travel up to 10%
Additional desired experience and skills:- PMP certification preferred
- Master's Degree in Engineering, Business, Management, or a related field
- Experience supporting NAVSEA/PAE Maritime PMS 400D, DDG 51 class programs, or major Navy acquisition program offices
- Knowledge of shipbuilder MYP configuration baselines, design engineering workflows, and contract financial trend analysis
- Familiarity with NMCI systems, government travel systems (TARs, VARs), and secure facility access processes
