Position Description & QualificationsSerco has an exciting Project Management opportunity with a dynamic team in Middletown, Rhode Island. Bring your expertise and leadership skills and make an impact supporting our Navy clients on the PC-Based Open-Architecture for Reconfigurable Training Systems (PORTS) program. The PORTS team designs and develops simulation-based training devices/systems for the US Surface Navy to train sailors on the operation and employment of their combat, weapon, and sensor systems. You will be part of a team of professionals who work closely together to deliver high quality products and services to our customers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
In this role, you will:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between Program Manager, Customer, and project team
- Review status of projects and budgets; review project work products; manage schedules and prepare status reports.
- Prepare data items in accordance with DoD requirements.
- Adhere to quality objectives, technical metrics, and schedules
- Attend meetings and brief Serco management and Navy customers on project status
- Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
- Participate in proposal activities for new projects
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
- Have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, applied science, or management
- Have a minimum of 5 years of management experience including profit and loss
- Be familiar with software development projects
- Have solid experience using Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MSProject)
- Travel up to 10%
Additional Desired experience and skills:
- Previous experience managing software development projects or HW/SW delivery and installation type projects
- Experience with navy simulation and training systems
- Prior Surface Navy experience with either Aegis, SSDS or LCS combat systems
- Current Secret clearance
- Experience managing Government Contracts
- Experience developing small to large proposals for Development or Sustainment type programs.
- Experience presenting project performance to upper management and customers
- Experience with AS9100/ISO9001, CMMI, or similar quality standards
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Attention to detail

- DAWIA Program Management Certifications or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
