Position Description & Qualifications

As the Acquisition Management Specialist in Washington, D.C, you will join an integrated government-industry team and become a part of U.S. Navy acquisition while building your professional background and expertise in support of the world's greatest Navy.

Serco will provide support in the area of acquisitions management to its customer, a defense acquisition program management office which is responsible for the development, acquisition, production, fielding, and lifetime support of critical Navy systems. This position will help you hone your skills in supply support, maintenance planning, technical data management, training support, and other related defense acquisition logistics skills in a professional office environment.

This position is contingent upon residence in the National Capitol Region (NCR). This position is also contingent upon your ability to maintain and transfer your Secret Level Clearance post-employment.

In this role you will:

  • Research written defense acquisition logistics management instructions and processes and apply what you have learned to solve problems and complete tasking.
  • Support program office's annual Task Planning and Allocation Review; providing in-depth requirements analysis, liaison with performers, preparation of briefing materials
  • Update weekly briefs, develop presentations, and maintain records management
  • Contribute to effective analysis and management of incoming and outgoing actions items assigned from meetings, telecoms, or emails
  • Draft, coordinate and review Purchase Requisition (PR) drafts for new contract requirements and modifications to established contracts. Input PR information into system.
  • Support development and review of various acquisition documents: Acquisition Strategy, Acquisition Plan, Justification & Approval, Statements of Work.
  • Assist in collecting, displaying, and interpreting program acquisitions-related data/metrics.
  • Gain additional responsibility and independent tasking as you grow in knowledge and experience.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • An active or current DoD Secret clearance.
  • US Citizenship.
  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to conduct program office tasking related to supporting Naval systems. This support could be in areas such as supply chain management, technical data, maintenance management, property management, training support, configuration management, etc.
  • Ability to assist with the management of plans and schedules related to acquisitions/logistics support.
  • Ability to support the government and contractor team in performing tasks such as arranging and participating in meetings or program reviews including preparing meeting agendas/minutes/actions, preparing presentations, developing spreadsheets, tracking action items, and assisting with collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to assist in collecting, displaying, and interpreting program logistics-related data/metrics.
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, etc.).
  • Knowledge of NEPs.
  • Ability to travel at least 10% of the time.
