Job Title: Planner SchedulerJob DescriptionThe Planner Scheduler owns day-to-day work order management and short-term production scheduling in a complex manufacturing environment. This role focuses on releasing, prioritizing, sequencing, and closing work orders in SAP, while continuously adjusting schedules based on real-time shop floor conditions. The Planner Scheduler ensures accurate data in SAP, drives timely completion of open and late work orders, and collaborates closely with Manufacturing and other stakeholders to maintain production flow and schedule adherence.
Responsibilities- Own daily work order management in SAP, including release, prioritization, sequencing, tracking, and closure.
- Execute and adjust short-term production schedules based on real-time shop floor conditions and changing priorities.
- Monitor open, in-process, and late work orders, driving timely completion and implementing recovery actions when needed.
- Re-prioritize and reschedule work orders to address material shortages, rework requirements, and capacity constraints.
- Ensure work order data accuracy in SAP, including status, lead times, priorities, and completion information.
- Act on MRP exception messages to maintain production flow and prevent delays in work orders.
- Support implementation of engineering change notices (ECNs) and MRB dispositions within active work orders.
- Coordinate closely with Manufacturing to align job priorities and resolve execution issues on the shop floor.
- Communicate clear, concise status updates and risks impacting work order completion and schedule adherence to stakeholders.
- Collaborate directly with Manufacturing Supervisors and Project Managers to make time-sensitive scheduling decisions.
- Utilize SAP MRP to support material planning, inventory management, production scheduling, and supply chain operations.
- Apply a strong production execution mindset to balance competing priorities and maintain schedule integrity.
- Support low-volume, long-lead production environments by building and adjusting detailed production schedules.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to production flow, WIP control, and Lean Manufacturing practices where applicable.
Essential Skills- Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Planning, Scheduling, or Production Control, preferably within complex electromechanical equipment manufacturing.
- Demonstrated experience building and adjusting production schedules and owning end-to-end work order execution.
- Hands-on experience utilizing SAP MRP in a manufacturing environment for material planning, inventory management, production scheduling, and supply chain operations.
- Strong understanding of MRP outputs as execution signals rather than long-range supply planning tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong production execution mindset with the ability to make frequent, time-sensitive scheduling decisions.
- Comfortable working directly with Manufacturing Supervisors and Project Managers on the shop floor.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a bias toward action and schedule recovery.
- Detail-oriented approach with strong ownership of work orders, commitments, and data accuracy.
- Clear and concise communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience supporting low-volume, long-lead production environments is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, WIP control, and production flow is preferred.
- Experience working in complex, cutting-edge manufacturing environments that support advanced technology and material science solutions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across manufacturing, project management, and supply chain functions.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and real-time decision-making demands.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $77126.00 - $97693.00/yr.
