About the job:The Global Macro Flow team provides coverage to the bank’s institutional clients in the US and Canada for all of their interest rate and foreign exchange hedging needs as well as for securities financing. The objective is to offer standard and tailored solutions ang grow our market share. Key Responsibilities
- Provide proactive coverage to North American institutional clients, primarily in the U.S. and Canada, across Fixed Income Securities Financing Transactions (SFT), including Repos, Total Return Swaps (TRS), and Securities Lending.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with U.S. and Canadian institutional clients—with a focus on hedge funds, money market funds, conduits, agent lenders, custodians, asset managers, and insurance companies. Experience covering and expanding a LATAM institutional client base is a plus.
- Leverage a proven track record and established client network to broaden BBVA’s client footprint and drive new business opportunities from the outset.
- Maintain a deep understanding of key risk, liquidity, and regulatory metrics (including LCR, NSFR, and balance sheet utilization) to guide client coverage and commercial growth sustainably and efficiently.
- Identify client requirements and manage orders while coordinating pricing and execution with trading desks.
- Support client onboarding by collaborating with Legal on GMRA, GMSLA, and ISDA negotiations and assisting clients with required documentation.
- Partner closely with Back Office, Middle Office, Legal, and Risk teams to ensure strict compliance with internal policies, operational procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Drive business automation and transformation initiatives, including new IT platforms, strategic commercial projects, and regulatory implementations.
- Foster a collaborative mindset and demonstrate a willingness to support the broader team beyond core client coverage.
Qualification & Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree and preferably a Master's degree (Finance, Economics, Engineering etc.)
- 10+ years of work experience as a sales or sales trader in SFT’s fixed income collateral (Repos, Reverse Repos, Securities lending, TRS, …) is required.
- This position will require the candidate to have the required certification.
- SIE, 7, and 63 licenses

With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $275,000 to $325,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
