This role will be responsible for translating business requirements into scalable, maintainable, and secure technical solutions across the ServiceNow platform in collaboration with the BSA. The indiviual will support a broad range of ServiceNow capabilities, including IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Configuration Management Database (CMDB), platform development, integrations, automation, and workflow.
A key focus of this role will be supporting the continued development and evolution of our ServiceNow-based asset and inventory management capabilities. The successful candidate will contribute technical expertise to initiatives involving hardware and software inventories, asset lifecycle management, CMDB data and relationships, discovery and data integrations, and the alignment of asset, configuration, and service data across the enterprise.
The role will work closely with Business Analysts, business stakeholders, technical teams, and other partners to understand business challenges, recommend ServiceNow best practices, and deliver solutions that align with enterprise architecture, development standards, security requirements, and governance practices.
In addition to hands-on development and technical solution design, the Senior ServiceNow Developer will provide technical leadership, mentorship, coaching, and day-to-day guidance to two junior developers. The successful candidate will serve as a technical subject matter expert across ServiceNow development, ITSM, integrations, CMDB, and IT asset management capabilities, while helping drive the continued maturity, scalability, and adoption of the ServiceNow platform.

- Collaborates in root-cause analysis to determine underlying causes and participates in problem resolution.

- Assesses the quality of supporting documentation, including business and process requirements documents, to ensure proper analysis supports recommendations or demonstrate continued alignment to strategic objectives.
- Develops a deep understanding of organizational complexity to build strong rapport with internal stakeholders for the construction and delivery of the solution.
- Stays abreast of industry technical and business trends through benchmarking and/or participation in professional associations.

Qualifications:
- Typically between 5 - 7 years of hands-on Service Now development and configuration experience in an enterprise environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow IT Service Management (ITSM) and solid understanding of core ITSM.
- Demonstrated experience with ServiceNow IT Asset Management(ITAM), including Software Asset Management(SAM), Hardware Asset Management(HAM), asset lifecycle and inventory management.
- Strong experience with Service Now development, including JavaScript, Business Rules, UI Policies, ACLs, Notifications and related platform components.
- Strong experience with the Flow Designer and Service Now automation capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting Service Now integrations with internal applications, external systems, and third-party platforms.
- Strong understanding of Service Now application architecture, development standards, security, performance and platform governance.
- Experience participating in or supporting ServiceNow upgrades, releases, enhancements, and platform maintenance.
- Strong understanding and practical experience with the Service Now Configuration Management Database (CMDB), including configuration items, relationships, data quality, reconciliation, and integrations.
- Knowledge of software development practice, concepts/methodologies (i.e. waterfall, Agile, iterative), and technologies obtained through formal training and/or work experience.
- Knowledge of technical/business environment (e.g. Microsoft business technologies and applications, relational databases, and SharePoint).

The above represents AIR MILES’ pay range and type.
Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents AIR MILES’ expected target for the first year in this position.
