Multi-Location (Auto) | Run Two Shops to One High Standard

5 Star Auto Plaza is hiring a Service Manager to own service operations across both of our St. Charles-area locations. We've been serving the St. Charles and St. Louis communities since 1997, and our name is on every vehicle that leaves our lot. We're looking for the kind of leader who treats that as a personal responsibility.

This is an independent, pre-owned dealership - not a franchised new-car store Our shop runs on reconditioning, all-makes/all-models repair, and customer-pay work - there's no factory warranty money to lean on. The right person knows how to get a wide range of vehicles sale-ready, fast and cost-effectively, and sees that as exactly the kind of challenge they're built for.

This isn't a seat-warmer role. You'll set the standard for two shops, build the systems that keep them consistent, and be the expert the team and our customers rely on to get to the right answer.

What you'll do

  • Own reconditioning throughput and cost across both lots - get all makes and models front-line-ready, fast and right
  • Own service quality, consistency, and profitability across two locations
  • Build and document the processes that keep both shops running to one standard
  • Lead and develop a team of technicians - diagnose skill gaps and close them
  • Track the numbers that matter (efficiency, comebacks, recon cycle time, gross) and improve them with data
  • Be the final quality check and the resolution point for complex, escalated work
  • Manage parts, vendors, and workflow so the operation runs clean and on time

What you bring

  • Automotive service / fixed-ops management experience (required)
  • Used-car or independent dealership service experience strongly preferred - all-makes repair, reconditioning, and cost control without relying on factory warranty work
  • Experience leading more than one location or a team that runs on real systems (required)
  • A strong technical foundation - you can evaluate the work, not just assign it
  • A track record of improving a metric, and the ability to explain exactly how
  • Organized, precise, self-directed, and confident holding a standard
