Job Description SummaryResponsible for managing service department goals and objectives of the dealership. Includes labor sales, marketing efforts, safety compliance (OSHA, EPA, MSHA), and all training requirements to support a qualified service team.
Essential Job Functions 1. Provide direction and leadership required to achieve professional technical services at profitable and quality standards.
2. Responsible for supervising all direct reports and for providing them with the guidance required for them to reach performance goals.
3. Observe service personnel in diagnostic and repair process; provide coaching to further develop their skills and perform safe, efficient, high-quality work.
4.Conduct regular service and training meetings to communicate company's objectives and policies, develop technical skills and to encourage employee participation and professional growth.
5. Schedule service work according to the priority of repair and the availability of the appropriate resources. Answer customer questions and assist in providing technical information as needed.
6. Communicate with customers to assure that they are aware of the work status throughout the service process, following up to confirm satisfaction or resolve any concerns.
7. Open work orders, monitor the progress of each. Review for accuracy and close them on a timely basis.
8. Ensure that all proper machine and warranty files are kept current and filed properly.
9. Ensure proper maintenance and repairs of the company rental fleet, provide recommendations for enhancement of reliability, dependability and cost savings.
10. Develop sales and expense budgets to assist company Controller in the corporate budget process.
General qualifications for this role:- Minimum 5-years' experience in performing similar service/parts/sales/marketing work in heavy equipment or a closely related industry.
- Prior experience supervising others.
- Positive and effective communication skills to support good relations with both internal and external customers.
- 4- year college degree in a business discipline is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits - This position offers a salary range of $90,000 - $100,000 annually, depending upon experience.
