The RoleReporting to the Director and working with a high degree of autonomy, the
Service Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our service business, overseeing the delivery, installation, operation, and maintenance of industrial water treatment and filtration equipment. This is a hands-on leadership role combining operational management, customer engagement, project delivery, financial accountability, and team leadership.
You will work closely with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. The role also includes responsibility for developing existing client relationships and identifying opportunities for business growth.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day operations of Envirogen's service facility and field service team, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of projects and customer services.
- Coordinate the delivery, installation, exchange, operation, and maintenance of water treatment equipment and filtration systems.
- Oversee project performance, including invoicing, project costs, labour estimates, material costs, and overall financial objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, including engineering teams, site managers, consultants, and other key stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to expand services within existing accounts and support wider business growth initiatives.
- Travel throughout the assigned territory to meet customers, build relationships, present solutions, and support business development activities.
- Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, Finance, and Administration teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Provide technical support and problem-solving expertise, including understanding customer requirements, gathering and interpreting data, and recommending effective solutions.
- Lead, mentor, train, and support field service personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure high levels of performance and customer service.
- Monitor service delivery and field operations to ensure contractual commitments, project specifications, and quality standards are achieved.
- Manage emergency service response activities when required.
RequirementsWhat We're Looking For- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience demonstrating the required technical knowledge and expertise.
- Experience within industrial water treatment operations.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing service teams, contractors, and customer-facing projects.
- Experience operating, evaluating, and troubleshooting industrial process equipment, instrumentation, meters, and gauges.
- Strong knowledge of physical and chemical water treatment processes. Experience with biological treatment systems would be advantageous.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets, estimating labour and material costs, and achieving financial targets.
- Valid 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification and annual refresher training, or willingness to obtain upon joining.
- TWIC card holder or ability to obtain one.
- Willingness to travel locally and regionally as required, approximately 40% of the time.
