The Opportunity Dilawri Group in Ontario is actively seeking a Service Manager to join the opening leadership team at Kia Vaughan. Total Compensation: Inclusive of salary and performance-based bonus, total annual compensation can range from
$85,000 to $135,000.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Service Manager will be responsible for establishing and leading a profitable, efficient, and customer-focused Service Department. The successful candidate will oversee departmental operations, employee performance, financial results, workflow, customer satisfaction, and compliance with manufacturer and company standards.
Responsibilities - Help establish the Service Department's systems, procedures, workflows, and operating standards in preparation for the dealership's opening.
- Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and lead a high-performing team of Service Advisors, Technicians, apprentices, and support staff.
- Establish clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable for achieving departmental objectives.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, safe, and customer-focused work environment.
- Oversee the Service Department's daily operations, scheduling, workflow, and repair-order process.
- Monitor shop capacity, technician productivity, efficiency, and proficiency.
- Track the performance of Service Advisors and Technicians and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Establish, forecast, and monitor monthly sales, gross-profit, productivity, and expense objectives.
- Review departmental financial statements and implement action plans to improve performance and profitability.
- Maintain appropriate expense controls and identify opportunities for revenue growth.
- Ensure customers receive professional, transparent, and timely communication throughout the service process.
- Respond to escalated customer concerns and work toward prompt and appropriate resolutions.
- Maintain strong customer satisfaction and retention results.
- Work collaboratively with the Parts Department to support efficient workflow and parts availability.
- Coordinate with the Sales Department regarding vehicle preparation, pre-delivery inspections, and internal repair work.
- Maintain strong relationships with manufacturer representatives and ensure compliance with Kia programs and standards.
- Monitor warranty administration, repair documentation, and claim submission processes.
- Ensure repair orders are complete, accurate, and compliant with manufacturer, company, and legal requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe Service Department.
- Ensure all employees follow workplace health and safety requirements and established dealership procedures.
- Prepare accurate and timely reports on departmental performance.
- Stay informed about industry trends, technical developments, recalls, and manufacturer programs.
- Perform other duties required to support dealership operations and overall success.
Qualifications - Minimum of five years of automotive dealership experience.
- Minimum of three years of automotive management or supervisory experience.
- Previous experience as a dealership Service Manager is strongly preferred.
- Strong automotive technical knowledge and understanding of dealership service operations.
- Demonstrated experience managing departmental sales, profitability, productivity, and expenses.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a team.
- Experience using CDK, Reynolds and Reynolds, or a comparable dealership management system.
- Strong understanding of manufacturer warranty processes and service standards.
- Exceptional customer service and conflict-resolution skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to analyze operational and financial information and implement effective action plans.
- Professional, accountable, and solutions-oriented leadership style.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and remain effective in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence with at least three years of licensed driving experience and a clean driver's abstract.
- Availability to work Saturdays as required.
