Full Job Description
Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Service Line Coordinator performs duties in alignment with the mission and policies of the organization and in support of and in compliance with the performance improvement plan, TJC and other licensing, accrediting and regulatory agencies. Works in collaboration with multidisciplinary team of physicians, other hospital departments and the Director of the Colorectal Surgery Institute. Is responsible for performance improvement projects. Oversees the development timelines and deliverables, monitors progress and problem solves to meet program objectives and obligations. Collects, organizes, analyzes and reports all necessary data. Maintains confidentiality of patient information at all times. Has advanced colorectal knowledge and proven application of that knowledge. Collaborates with and provides leadership for the Colorectal Surgery Institute area along with other within the Colorectal service line to promote excellence in patient care. Also, assist in the planning, development and implementation of program goals and operations. Oversees staff for the scheduling, charge audit, report preparation, department audits and reconciliation procedures, implementation of new charges as applicable and assistance with revenue-based statistics and related issues for the Colorectal Surgery Institute. Also responsible for supervision and training of staff on clinic processes including charge captures and subsequent charge review post procedure, etc. Able to think strategically, analyze effectively, and use sound judgment. Must be able to access issues to identify the cause and plan ways to resolve issues while maintaining the dignity of issues while maintaining the dignity of others. Embraces diversity by displaying sensitivity to different cultures and cultural backgrounds.

  • Development and implementation of Centers of Excellence program for Colorectal diseases. Work closely with team of multidisciplinary physicians to include Colorectal and General Surgeons, Medical and Radiation Oncologists, Pathologist, Anesthesiologist and Quality Management and other clinical departments.
  • Interface with the Medical, Nursing and other clinical staff to improve compliance with specific elements for Colorectal Service line. Analyze data and present findings to committees as appropriate.
  • Oversees the development timelines and deliverable, monitors progress and problem solves to meet program objectives and obligations. Serves in a leadership capacity for the Center at each of the program specific committees. This would involve overseeing the meeting preparation, coordination of agendas, presentations and monitoring progress on action items.
  • Oversees the tracking process for data related to the throughput of the colorectal patients and provides data to initiate changes as appropriate and to improve outcomes.
  • Develop & maintain program performance reports and data summaries. Provides leadership in the development of clinical protocol/policies and program objectives for the Colorectal Center of Excellence programs.
  • Establish processes for building communication, synergy and collaboration between committee members and hospital clinical departments.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelors degree in Business or Healthcare/Public Health Administration
  • Minimum 5 year experience healthcare, clinical knowledge and/or Colorectal service line or related field.
  • Knowledge of HCPCS and CPT Compliance regulations.

Preferred

  • Masters Degree in Business or Healthcare/Public Health Administration
  • Certified Professional Coder Hospital
