Service Foreman I - HVACPosition OverviewAs a Service Foreman I - HVAC at a Modigent operating company, you will provide daily leadership and direction to service technicians performing commercial HVAC repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and light retrofit work. Working under the guidance of higher-level service leadership, you will oversee assigned calls and projects, ensure high-quality workmanship, reinforce safety standards, and support strong customer relationships. This role is ideal for experienced technicians ready to step into formal leadership while continuing to grow toward greater responsibility.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide daily guidance, training, and direction to service technicians on assigned calls and projects.
- Oversee basic troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance tasks under the direction of higher-level leadership.
- Ensure crews follow service procedures, safety requirements, and company policies.
- Assist with material coordination, daily progress tracking, and basic documentation.
- Conduct or support toolbox talks and enforce PPE compliance.
- Communicate job status and issues to the Service Manager or dispatch.
- Support quality checks and customer communication as directed.
- Promote a positive team environment and reinforce company standards in the field.
Supervisory Responsibilities Yes - Provides day-to-day leadership and mentoring to HVAC service technicians on assigned work.
Requirements/Qualifications- Experience: Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC service experience with emerging leadership experience.
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Certifications/Licenses: EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required. Relevant HVAC certifications (NATE, manufacturer training) preferred. OSHA 30 preferred. Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, frequently bend, lift, stand, and walk on uneven terrain or in confined spaces, and safely climb ladders.
- Work Environment/Safety: Active service job sites and customer facilities. This is a safety-sensitive position. Strict adherence to safety policies and OSHA standards is required.
