Full Job Description
Purpose of the Position:
Under general supervision, this position leads project planning activities for Paint Shop projects, such as defining scope, developing schedules and budgets, allocating resources, and monitoring progress. This includes planning, specification, and overseeing transfers to production for equipment projects, new model launchs, model year, and current running model design changes while ensuring compliance with MBUSI buy-off procedures
Essential Functions:
Supports Development (RD) at design for manufacturing, using the experiences out of current series production.
Prepares planning options, evaluate cost-efficiency and provide analysis of both.
Plans, specifies and purchases paint shop equipment, oversee transfer of equipment to production, ready for operation or assigns and coordinates Production Planning Department in case of large or new product launch projects.
Leads and implements equipment projects in adherence to the MBUSI buy-off procedure. Leads equipment buy-off teams and meetings with Process Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, and Production
Develops project plans, timelines, and budgets
Defines project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
Ensures resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, are allocated efficiently
Provides design proposals for new equipment or modifications
Oversees day-to-day operations of project activities, ensuring progress aligns with the established timeline
Conducts regular meetings with stakeholders to communicate project status, risks, and any necessary changes
Monitors project expenditures and adjust the budget as needed
Supports model year, current running model design changes, and new model impact studies for series planning, Pilot, Process and Maintenance Engineering
Provides contact for special short-term projects as deemed important by management
Follows and ensures all affected rules, policies and laws concerning safety and security
Perform safe work practices and participate in trainings and safety programs in a positive and proactive way by following safety rules, procedures, regulations, standards and laws. Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and injuries to Management or Safety Department
Work safely 100% of the time
Perform other duties as required
Qualifikationen QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position
Education:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or related area or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years' of relevant professional experience in the following area(s): Engineering function in an automotive manufacturing environment
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.:
Experience in project management and in leading problem solving groups.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts.
Proven ability to work in a team environment.
Proven capability to develop and support strategic directions and concepts for the organization.
Ability to communicate effectively.
PC application knowledge: WORD, EXCEL, MS Project and Power Point
Preferred Skills:
Work experience with Mercedes-Benz in product development and in a pre-production environment.
Experience with Daimler Equipment Standards through Enterprise Content Management (ECM).
Ability to clearly communicate technical information, both verbally and in writing, in German and English.
Experience in CAD systems (Engineering Client, Solidworks, Siemens NX, Catia, FAPLIS)
Experience with Daimler Product Management Software.
Project Management Certification like PMP, PMI-ACP.
Lean Six Sigma Certification
