Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 3, Deputy to Enterprise Systems Integration Lead. The Enterprise Systems Integration (ESI) team is multi-tiered and multi-disciplined team responsible for assessing external interfaces and mission scenario operational threads across the Weapon System (WS). The ESI org serves as system integrators to facilitate systems of systems interoperability and joint systems integration in partnership with customer counterparts and other key stakeholders across the enterprise. This position may be located either in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL and will support the Sentinel program Systems Engineering, Integration, & Test (SEIT) Business Unit.

What you will get to do:

As a Deputy Manager reporting to the ESI Lead, you will be responsible for providing execution leadership for the planning and performance of joint systems integration activities within the ESI portfolio. You will be responsible for programmatic oversight and on-schedule development of systems integration products as the primary delegate to the ESI Lead. You will be expected to manage day-to-day operations of the SEIT team, which consists of engineers executing SEIT external integration scope across the BUs and key subject matter domains on the Sentinel program. In this position, the Deputy Lead must understand the detailed program roadmap to major integration events and the responsibilities of the SEIT team to meet event and contractual criteria.

This is a highly strategic role that requires systems thinking, organizational awareness, customer relationships, and expertise in cost, schedule, and technical risks related to systems integration.

Responsibilities:

• Leading the integration of external systems across enterprise interfaces to ensure compatible and compliant solutions.

• Supporting program schedules, milestones, and deliverables while identifying and mitigating risks to specialty engineering performance.

• Collaborating with key stakeholders to develop strategies for optimizing system lifecycle performance, addressing technical challenges, and ensuring program success.

• Ensuring adherence to programmatic requirements, regulatory compliance, and company processes.

• Mentoring, coaching, and developing a diverse team of systems engineering professionals.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) with 8 years of related experience; 6 years of related experience with a Master’s Degree.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years, current and within scope.

• Must have an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) and Top Secret clearance approval within a reasonable period.

• Experience with Agile, Confluence, and Jira

• Experience with Systems Engineering program milestone planning and execution to completion (e.g. Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, etc.)

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

• Sentinel SEIT work experience

• DoD TS Clearance

• Experience executing and boarding Risks, Issues & Opportunities

• Experience managing multiple projects concurrently

• Experience with managing/scheduling complex technical efforts

• 3+ years formal management experience leading a team of engineers (10+ personnel)

• Strong understanding and broad application of complex engineering systems (e.g., engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.) for the development of complex systems-of-systems.

• Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and experiences with presenting to both internal and customer audiences

• Ability to deal with ambiguity and to meet program commitments in a highly concurrent engineering environment

• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence across disparate organizations without direct organizational authority

• Experience with building teams in rapid nature

• Experience working across program organizations to find solutions

Primary Level Salary Range: $166,700.00 - $276,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
