DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a
Project Manager. This position is located in
Roy, UT and supports the Ground Subsystems Support Contract (GSSC). This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You'll Get To Do:The selected candidate will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. They review status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports. The Project Manager assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. They develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
Responsibilities include:- Knowledge, Skills and Ability: Frequent use and general knowledge of project management industry practices, techniques, and standards. General application of project management concepts, and principles. Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks.
- Problem Solving: Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
- Discretion/Latitude: Works under only very general supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.
- Impact: Contributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals. Errors in judgement or failure to achieve results would normally require a moderate expenditure of resources to rectify.
- Liaison: Frequent internal company and external contacts. Represents organization on specific projects. May make presentations to small groups.
- Coordination with program assignment managers to understand staffing requirements.
- Project Execution.
- Integrate and manage between program Segments, and supporting functional teams by performing tactical day to day operations.
- Review status of projects and budget, manage schedules, assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Develop mechanisms for monitoring and reporting project progress, intervention and problem solving with senior management and managers.
- Coordinate and prepare executive and customer presentations.
- Facilitate, coordinate and track preparation and submission of contract and other data deliverables to the customer.
- Coordinate and manage efforts surrounding key program events.
- Collaboration and communication.
- Other duties as assigned.
This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience; 0 Years with Masters or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security clearance (Secret, Top Secret; etc.)
- Experience in project management/ execution and closeout.
- Skilled use of Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Project Management principles.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers.
- Experience planning, scheduling, and managing projects.
- Experience developing content, packaging, and briefing communication to small groups.
Preferred Qualifications:- PMP Certification.
- Current/Active Special Program Access (SAP).
- Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization and with outside organizations.
- At least 1 year of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
- Demonstrated experience using SAP, Windows software packages, Atlassian Tool Suite, JIRA and other electronic databases.
Primary Level Salary Range: $65,500.00 - $98,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
