DescriptionNorthrop Grumman's Flight Systems Engineering and Integration team is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for defining mechanical interface controls, releasing integration assembly drawings, and coordinating design solutions alongside other Flight Systems product teams. You will be expected to develop the mechanical interface baseline and present product designs to customers. Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail are critical to being successful in this position.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Active Secret clearance at time of application with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- The ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP)
- Experience performing CAD modeling with design tools such as Siemens NX or similar
- Experience performing mechanical design efforts on MILCON, major infrastructure/building projects, or Aerospace and Defense programs.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of tools - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
- Ability to understand and interpret requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Able to work independently, function in a dynamic environment, and be flexible to changing direction
- Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts
- Exposure to missiles program requirements & with propulsion
- Proficient with 3D design/2D drawing CAD in NX
- Proficient with PDM and/or CPLM
- Proficient with GD&T and ASME Y14.5-2009
Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
