Full Job Description

Job Overview

The Senior Grant Writer will work within the Grants Development Team and will have the primary responsibility for responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) issued by government agencies and other institutional funders, including corporate and private foundations.  The Grant Writer partners with Department Leads and the proposed implementation team to develop compelling proposals that align with organizational goals and programmatic needs. The Senior Grant Writer coordinates, manages, and at times leads the internal and/or external partner proposal development team process, both soliciting information from partners and crafting the narrative and budget of a proposal. The proposal team may include Principal Investigator PhDs from academic and other institutions, internal AltaMed MD/DO and other clinical providers, Department/Line of Business leaders, and the implementation team for the proposed project. The Senior Grant Writer will be responsible for the timely completion of the proposal development process by the submission of a comprehensive application by the RFP deadline. This position may also proactively seek funding opportunities to be presented to leadership for approval to pursue. This position may also develop concept papers that explain and showcase best practices that expand and enhance the AltaMed operation and programmatic activities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's required, PhD in health services or medical degree preferred.

  • Publication writing and presentation experience in the healthcare or related field required.

  • Minimum of 7 years of grant writing experience in the health care nonprofit sector

Compensation

$87,461.21 - $109,326.52 annually
