Full Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and/or review of large and complex work packages including written step-by-step work instructions, procedures, safety and testing requirements for the implementation and control of operations, maintenance or modification work activities within a given area. May include separately or in conjunction with work control development, recommendations and instruction for mechanical, electrical, radiological, and chemical energy and systems control lockout and tagout, and/or resolving work package restraints and bringing work packages to final closure.

Duties may include:
• Prepare, review and issue large and/or complex equipment and/or system modification work packages.
• Review understanding and interpretation of various engineering, design, technical and vendor prints, drawings, schematics, documents, diagrams, and specifications to ensure design information sufficient to develop modifications for electrical/mechanical systems.
• Development may also include a physical walkdown of the area or system to identify potentially hazardous conditions or configuration anomalies.
• Provide work control package technical review for quality and consistency as well as provide work guidance and instruction to other work control personnel in a lead or coordinating capacity.
• Analyze time and material requirements for work activity.
• Prepare, review and issue corrective maintenance work packages.
• Develop and issue preventive maintenance records and work packages.
• Discuss and interface problems and concerns with associated work control/work package activity with site organizations.
• Provide technical advice regarding maintenance and work control to facility management or work control personnel in any of number of potential specialty areas either in an engineering or subject matter expert capacity.

Education

Candidate must meet at least one of the following:

1. Bachelor's degree in a non-technical discipline and at least 4-5 years of practical experience in work control, materials management, E&I / mechanical maintenance, or related areas.

2. Associate's degree in a technical or mechanical area and at least 8 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent.

3. High school diploma and at least 10-12 years of practical experience would also be considered equivalent.

Experience/Skills:

The ability to understand and interpret various electrical and mechanical documents,

Blueprints, drawings, and schematics is required. Ability to utilize and manipulate computerized work management systems in maintaining and tracking work planning activities is required. The ability to coordinate the work of teams, set and meet goals and objectives and prioritize work is important. A working knowledge of DOE, Federal and state regulations as well as existing engineering and quality assurance standards and procedures is required. Requires a comprehensive understanding of site work control procedures and work practices, radiological control, quality assurance, configuration management, material control and procedures for both maintenance and operations related areas. Requires a thorough understanding from a conceptual level of various processes, systems, and equipment. Understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration and lockout point identification.

Work Environment / Physical Demands:
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Light to moderate lifting may be required for packages and other items, ability to walk short distances, may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
