Your Opportunity

An opportunity exists for a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join a highly technical and collaborative team delivering complex water resources work across Canada. Our projects include drainage and stormwater management, flood mitigation, natural asset solutions, master planning, and climate resilience, spanning the full project lifecycle-from planning and analysis through design and implementation. We are seeking an experienced engineer motivated by challenging problems, impactful engineering, and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in the continued evolution of a growing, highly regarded practice.

You will join a high-performing, forward-thinking team that supports clients in managing existing water resources infrastructure, designing new systems, and advancing emerging service offerings informed by academic collaboration and innovation in artificial intelligence and machine learning. In this role, you will also provide senior-level technical guidance to teams across the company as part of a broader global network of experienced water resources professionals.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Act as project lead for water resources assignments, including planning, analysis, and design
  • Lead drainage and stormwater management components of multidisciplinary projects, as well as water-resources-led studies
  • Develop clear work plans, manage scope, schedule, and budget, and proactively identify and manage delivery risk
  • Provide technical direction and review for hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and modeling
  • Oversee and guide work completed by junior and intermediate staff, providing mentorship through review and discussion
  • Prepare and review technical reports, memoranda, and design documentation
  • Participate in proposal preparation, including scope development, methodology, and technical review
  • Interface with clients, municipalities, and review agencies as required to support project delivery

Representative project types include:
  • Climate change vulnerability, and natural hazard assessments to support resilient infrastructure planning and design
  • Flood risk assessment and mitigation studies for urban and riverine systems
  • Drainage and stormwater management design in support of transportation and linear infrastructure projects
  • Integrated roadway, crossing, and structure modifications to address hydraulic constraints and flooding concerns
  • Stormwater management planning and design in support of land development and municipal growth initiatives
  • Planning efforts at the watershed and subwatershed to supporting infrastructure planning and asset management
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic assessments to support environmental approvals, feasibility studies, and detailed design


Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Strong understanding of Ontario municipal, provincial, conservation authority, and federal standards and permitting processes
  • Highly proficient in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, modelling platforms and design of public infrastructure projects in urban and rural settings
  • Experience applying hydrologic and hydraulic theory to real-world design and decision-making
  • Skilled in statistical software like R and HEC-SSP, and GIS mapping and geoprocessing tools such as Q-GIS or ArcGIS
  • Experience reviewing and guiding spreadsheet-based and statistical analyses
  • Ability to communicate technical findings clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats
  • Working knowledge of CADD software such as Autodesk Civil3D / Bentley OpenRoads
  • Experience with scripting, automation, or applied digital tools is considered an asset.

Education and Experience
  • Undergraduate degree in Water Resources, Civil or Environmental Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution. A graduate degree in the hydrotechnical discipline will be considered an asset.
  • Registered with PEO as a P.Eng. (or eligible to register)
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience

Work Environment

Typical office environment involving extended computer-based work. Field work may be required periodically and may include exposure to the elements.
