Senior Water Quality Scientist / Engineer, you'll join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary water quality assessment team of over 30 scientists, modellers, and aquatic toxicologists known for delivering high-quality, technically robust work across a diverse project portfolio.
Based in western Canada, this hybrid role can be located in
Saskatoon, Calgary, or Edmonton. You'll lead complex permitting, monitoring, and assessment initiatives across the
mining, municipal, and oil & gas sectors, while helping shape the growth and technical excellence of our water quality practice.
Your Impact- Lead the development of project scopes, schedules, and budgets for water quality and environmental assessment work
- Direct integrated project delivery, ensuring alignment across aquatic disciplines such as hydrology, geochemistry, and aquatic health
- Oversee the design and execution of field programs, including baseline studies, construction monitoring, and environmental effects monitoring
- Analyze and interpret complex water and sediment quality datasets, ensuring strong quality control and defensable outcomes
- Represent projects as a subject matter expert in regulatory reviews, hearings, and stakeholder engagements
- Build and strengthen client relationships while supporting business development and strategic growth initiatives
- Mentor and develop junior and intermediate staff, fostering technical capability and consulting excellence
- Champion a strong culture of health, safety, and continuous improvement
The Skills That Set You Apart- A degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or a related field (M.Sc. or higher preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive experience in water quality and environmental assessment
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering high-quality work in a consulting environment
- Strong knowledge of Canadian environmental assessment and permitting processes
- Experience designing and implementing aquatic effects monitoring and water quality programs
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A collaborative mindset with a passion for mentoring and developing others
CompensationAB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $110,600 - $146,500
MB & ON: $100,900 - $139,000
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $99,900 - $132,700
