Your Opportunity

We are hiring a Wastewater Treatment Engineer to support a variety of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment projects in Minnesota and the upper Midwest. The role may include a variety of technical engineering/design tasks as well as business development tasks depending on the experience and interests of the selected candidate.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a key part of the Water Business, your general duties will be as follows:
  • Become engaged in active project delivery in a client-facing role in the municipal and industrial wastewater market in the Midwest United States.
  • Support and lead planning and design phase efforts for municipal and/or industrial wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Support and lead construction administration efforts on active projects including site visits, submittal reviews, and contractor/client interaction.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership for junior staff and effectively manage multi-disciplined building services teams.
  • Engage in work that spans local, regional and national geographies.
  • Support Stantec's reputation for innovation and research through participation in conferences, professional associations, and academic partnerships.
  • Support the development of innovative technical solutions for drinking water projects.
  • Prepare scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for projects.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of engineering work.
  • Maintain and enhance our reputation with clients, approval agencies and industry professionals as an outstanding service provider.
  • Maintain consistently high standards of delivery, quality, flexibility, and innovation.
  • Work in a manner to protect the health and safety of Stantec employees, clients, and the public by following company health, safety and security guidelines and policies.
  • Lead people by coaching and mentoring to achieve business and performance goals.


Qualifications

  • Experienced in organizing, planning, and executing municipal and/or industrial wastewater treatment projects from pursuit through closeout, involving internal personnel, subconsultants, and vendors.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passion for team building and collaboration.
  • Efficient technical leadership of assigned tasks on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Understand client expectations, budgeting, proposal writing, and producing high quality deliverables.
  • Demonstrated experience, managing, or participating in market and strategic client relationship development campaigns.

Education and Experience
  • Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 12 years' relevant professional experience, with at least 5 years of experience managing and/or coordinating wastewater treatment projects.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Minnesota or ability to achieve within one year of hire.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
