Full Job Description
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time Information Technology (IT) Specialist (Policy/Plans) (GG-2210-14) to work as a Senior Warfighter Mission Area Policy Analyst at United States Air Force Headquarters (USAF HQ), Air Staff (AS), Policy and Guidance Division (A6XP), Joint Base (JB) Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, District of Columbia (D.C.) Moving expenses may be paid. Salary: $127,646 -- $165,945 per year based on experience. Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period. This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position aligned under authorities of Section 1601, Chapter 83 of Title 10, United States Code and DoD which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS. Qualifications/Requirements: In this position, you will assist the Deputy Chief of Staff for Warfighter Communications and Cyberspace Systems (AF/A6) in their role as the United States Air Force (USAF) Service Lead for Warfighting Mission Area (WMA) Information Technology (IT). Provides guidance to a team of senior Air Force (AF) policy analysts and to provide AF WMA IT expertise covering warfighter communications and cyber systems to develop and disseminate governance and policy guidance for major war, mobilization, and contingency operations plans as well as provide expert guidance and advice to Department of the Air Force headquarters staffs and major commands (MAJCOMs) regarding Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Information Technology (C4IT) portfolio activities to arm Senior Leader for portfolio advocacy. U.S. Citizenship (Required) This is a designated Drug Testing Position Must be able to obtain and maintain a "Top Secret" security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Must sign a non-disclosure agreement. Required Core Competencies: Knowledge of a wide range of Warfighting Mission Area (WMA) Information Technology (IT) concepts, principles and practices, procedures, policies, standards, operations requirements and the ability to relate to user requirements. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Ability to to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. Knowledge of United States (US) Air Force, Federal, Department of Defense (DoD) and United States Air Force (USAF) laws, regulations, policies and guidance that apply to the performance of duties, including but not limited to, Title publications, Office of Management and Budget (OMB) publications, DoD Directive (DoDD) publications, DoD series publications, National Security Agency standards, National Institute of Standards and Technology standards and the USAF publications. Knowledge of performance characteristics of WMA IT equipment, systems, services and transmission media to evaluate new devices, proposals and approaches. Working knowledge of Department of the Air Force (DAF) acquisitions processes as related to DAF, and USAF Corporate Processes.
