Compensation: $225,000-$290,000 base, 20-30% bonus, and opportunity to participate in equity
Role DescriptionAt Atlas Oncology, we believe every patient deserves personalized support as they navigate the complex cancer care system. We are seeking a seasoned SVP of Payor Growth to lead our growth strategy efforts and oversee business development across payor partners. This role requires a player/coach profile passionate about building a team within a high-growth setting. The SVP of Payor Growth will own all payor growth and account management functions to support contracting with both health plans and at-risk providers. They will be the face of Atlas to payors and will build mutually beneficial full risk agreements, coordinate internal resources to advance pipeline, and cross-functionally collaborate to support operationalization of these agreements once live. As the team expands, we expect the SVP Payor Growth to build out a team that will oversee net new contracting for payors, account management, and payor implementation.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Growth Strategy & Product Design
- Refine and execute a national value-based care contracting strategy aligned with enterprise growth objectives in partnership with the executive leadership team
- Provide payor and oncology market insights to inform the design of value-based payment models across lines of business
Payor Business Development
- Lead and deliver against all payor contracting activities across national and regional payors
- Refine and enhance a scalable growth function playbook, including contract templates, pipeline reporting, policies and procedures, and
Account Management & Leadership
- Partner with finance, clinical operations, and legal teams to operationalize agreements
- Monitor contract performance, analyze financial implications, and communicate risk insights to senior leadership
- Hire and develop an industry-leading team that can achieve growth and ongoing payor account management goals
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and workflow optimization
Thought Leadership
- Represent Atlas Oncology Partners and serve as primary liaison with payors and industry stakeholders fostering collaborative relationships and advancing innovative care models
- Stay ahead of industry trends and competitive dynamics
Reporting: This role will initially report to the Chief Executive Officer
Required Qualifications- 10+ years healthcare experience, including contracting, med economics / analytics, strategy, and / or partnerships
- Existing relationships with MA, Commercial, and Medicaid payor contracting leaders
- Proven performance at a high-growth healthcare company to build out VBC agreements and maintain strong relationships that enable further growth
- Deep understanding of value-based performance optimization levers across Medicare Advantage, Commercial and original Medicare lines of business
- Ability to design and deliver a payor growth strategy from within an early-stage healthcare services organization with a long-term view in mind
- Ability to travel at least 25% of the time
- Demonstration of ability and enthusiasm to work as an independent contributor and manager as the function scales
- Comfort with change, process improvement, and working in a start-up or high-growth organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree preferred
- Experience or exposure to oncology-specific alternative payment models
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and proactive self-starter
- Experience building successful teams and scaling growth and account management
