We are seeking a
Senior Vice President, Digital Growth & Innovation. This role leads and builds a new, digital line of business, focused on driving sustainable business growth through digital channels, while partnering with the credit union's established lines of business - personal banking, business banking, wealth management, and insurance - to leverage digital capabilities to grow the overall business and help our members achieve their goals.

Senior Vice President, Digital Growth & Innovation leads and builds a new, digital line of business, focused on driving sustainable business growth through digital channels, while partnering with the credit union's established lines of business - personal banking, business banking, wealth management, and insurance - to leverage digital capabilities to grow the overall business and help our members achieve their goals.
In partnership with the CIDO, the
SVP, Digital Growth & Innovation helps shape and execute Coastal Community's digital vision and strategy across digital banking, member growth, innovation management, artificial intelligence (AI), data and analytics, open banking, payments, and fintech partnerships. The SVP, Digital Growth & Innovation works in strong alignment, collaboration, and partnership with the SVP, Technology & IT Operations to advance the strategic objectives of the organization. The SVP collaborates with the Executive and Senior Leadership Teams to ensure digital strategy, investment, and delivery are tightly aligned to enterprise growth, member value, and the long-term viability of the credit union and its subsidiaries.
Your duties will include (high level summary):
- Partners with the CIDO to set the digital vision and strategy and leads its execution through the new digital line of business.
- Works in strong alignment and partnership with the SVP, Technology & IT Operations so that digital strategy is matched by robust technical delivery, operations, and security, jointly advancing the strategic objectives of the organization.
- Leads and builds the new digital line of business, translating Coastal Community's strategic plan into measurable digital growth, membership, and engagement outcomes.
- Develops short- and long-term plans, business cases, and budgets for the digital portfolio; monitors performance against targets and reallocates investment to the highest-return opportunities.
- In partnership with the CIDO, sets the vision and multi-year roadmap for digital banking channels - online, mobile, conversational, and emerging interfaces - with a relentless focus on usability, accessibility, and member value.
- Drives personalization and self-service capabilities that deepen member relationships and increase digital adoption.
- Brings deep expertise in digital marketing and member growth - spanning digital acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and cross-sell - and ensures Coastal Community builds and sustains a best-in-class capability in this area.
- Partners with SLT peer leaders of retail, small business, commercial, wealth management, and insurance to embed digital capabilities that help to grow their lines of business.
- Builds and operates a disciplined innovation function - from horizon scanning and ideation through to validated pilots and scaled deployment - with clear stage-gates and funding decisions.
- Leads the responsible adoption of AI and machine learning - including generative AI - to drive growth, personalization, productivity, and improved member and employee experiences.
- Develops and executes Coastal Community's open banking and open data strategy, positioning the organization to comply with and capitalize on Canada's evolving Consumer-Driven Banking framework, while leveraging this capability to drive growth and innovation.
- Accountable for the overall leadership, supervision, coaching, and development of the team and its leaders to deliver on the strategic vision for digital growth.
What are we looking for?- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of twelve (12) years of progressive experience in the financial services industry or digital, technological product, including significant experience driving digital growth
- Minimum ten (10) years of senior leadership experience, including accountability for a significant product portfolio, business line, or comparable commercial mandate.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex business environments, developing high-performing teams, and driving strategic growth. Specialized expertise in the functional area of responsibility is required.
- Demonstrated success launching and scaling digital banking, payments, data/AI, or fintech-enabled products and partnerships.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing and member-growth levers (digital acquisition, personalization, lifecycle marketing, and performance analytics).
- Proven knowledge of banking, wealth, and insurance operations, products, and the regulatory environment applicable to a financial institution.
- Strong understanding of open banking / consumer-driven banking, payments modernization, AI governance, and data privacy and protection requirements.
Career Band Range (Annual Salary) - $153,407.00 to $193,500.00The posted salary range is designed to reflect a broad career band, encompassing a variety of roles within our organization and serves as a general guideline. Your final compensation will be tailored to your unique skills, experience, and the responsibilities of the role.
