Senior UX Designer, Intelligent Experiences

Description -

Job Summary

Join HP's Global Experience Design team and help shape the future of intelligent printing experiences for SMB and Enterprise customers around the world. We are looking for a designer who thrives at the intersection of hardware, software, services, and AI-enabled workflows-someone who can turn complex ecosystems into clear, intuitive, and beautifully crafted end-to-end experiences. This is not a traditional UX role. It is an opportunity to contribute to everything from control panel OS and interface experiences to setup, onboarding, scanning, device management, maintenance, and next-generation AI-driven solutions. You will work with a highly respected global design team, partner with cross-functional teams across software, firmware, program management, and marketing, and help shape products that are visible, widely used, and strategically important to HP.

Senior UX Designer, Intelligent Experiences

We are looking for an Experience Design professional who can contribute to holistic, end-to-end experiences across connected print ecosystems. The ideal candidate is not limited to traditional UX execution, but brings a broader XD mindset that spans user research, experience strategy, interaction design, visual design, systems thinking, prototyping, and usability validation. This person should be comfortable moving from ambiguous problem framing to detailed design execution, with the ability to help shape product direction across device interfaces, software experiences, service workflows, and future AI-driven solutions. Success in this role requires strong design judgment, sensitivity to craft, fluency in tools such as Figma, FigJam, and Miro, and the ability to work across disciplines and global teams to create experiences that are useful, usable, and cohesive. We are especially looking for someone excited by designing for AI-powered products and services, experimenting with emerging design workflows, and helping raise the bar for experience quality across HP Print.

Responsibilities
  • Designs end-to-end user experiences across printer hardware interfaces, control panel operating system and UI, PC and mobile software, setup and onboarding flows, maintenance tools, and partner-facing management solutions.
  • Plans and participates in qualitative and quantitative user research, including in-person ethnography, focus groups, usability studies, and concept validation, then translates findings into clear design direction and product recommendations.
  • Creates experience strategies, journey maps, flows, prototypes, specifications, and reusable design patterns that improve consistency across products, services, and touchpoints.
  • Partners closely with software, firmware, program management, product marketing, and other HP interface teams to align on experience vision, user needs, technical feasibility, and brand consistency.
  • Works closely with engineering teams to understand constraints, shape feasible solutions, make thoughtful tradeoffs, and deliver detailed design guidance from concept through implementation.
  • Works with designers and cross-functional partners across global teams to deliver high-quality, holistic experiences for complex programs and product portfolios.
  • Raises the quality of visual design across interfaces by working with design systems and adjacent HP teams to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with brand standards.
  • Contributes to product discussions, reviews, and presentations with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Shares ideas, contributes to team learning, and supports strong experience design practices across the organization.
  • Thrives in evolving, ambiguous environments where AI capabilities, user expectations, and design best practices are changing rapidly.
  • Brings familiarity with AI-powered design tools and workflows, including generative design and prototyping assistants, and is excited to design for AI-driven products and services while experimenting with new capabilities.

Education & Experience Recommended
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Experience Design, User Experience, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Product Design, Service Design, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Typically 5+ years of experience designing end-to-end digital, device, or service experiences, with a strong portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, interaction design, visual design sensitivity, and user-centered problem solving.
  • Experience working across product ecosystems that may include hardware, embedded or device interfaces, software, setup flows, management tools, or service journeys is a plus.
  • Experience designing for or with AI-powered products, services, or workflows-and curiosity about how emerging AI tools can support the design process-is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, communicate design rationale clearly, and navigate ambiguity in fast-evolving product environments.
