Job DescriptionOverviewAs a member of the Municipal Infrastructure team within the Civil Engineering, Design and Project Management Division for Canada, you will work in a collaborative, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment, supporting the delivery of major Transit Rail and civil infrastructure projects.
As a Senior Utility Design Engineer, you will lead the planning, design, and coordination of complex utility systems for large-scale infrastructure projects. You will play a key role in guiding technical design, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring high-quality deliverables across all project phases.
Your role- Lead the design and development of municipal utility systems including watermain, sanitary, stormwater, and associated infrastructure.
- Oversee preparation and review of engineering drawings, plans, profiles, specifications, and reports.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, technologists, and designers.
- Manage utility coordination, including stakeholder engagement, clash detection, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure designs comply with municipal standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including roadway, rail, structural, and environmental groups.
- Review and approve design calculations, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Liaise with clients, municipalities, and utility agencies to support approvals and design integration.
- Manage the design packages delivery ensuring QA/QC, and compliance while following project budgets and timelines.
About you- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution and Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility in Ontario.
- 8+ years of experience in municipal infrastructure and utility design.
- Proven experience in utility design, coordination and multidisciplinary project environments.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D; experience with BIM tools is an asset.
- Familiarity with BIM 360, ProjectWise, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Strong understanding of Ontario municipal standards, guidelines, and approval processes & prior experience of working on Transit Rail projects would be an asset.
- Valid Driver's License is required.

Additional informationExpected compensation for this role is between $93,800 - $129,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
