Responsibilities

  • Identify and execute Utility Coordination strategies for projects
  • Determine Subsurface Utility Engineering requirements and manage investigations
  • Identify utility conflicts through examination of existing infrastructure
  • Create and maintain Utility Conflict and Relocation Matrices
  • Organize and chair utility coordination meetings, recording minutes and action items
  • Participate in project meetings to ensure cohesive project management
  • Calculate utility relocation costs and suggest designs for conflict resolution

Full Job Description
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Identifyand execute Utility Coordination strategies for any given contract, communicating that strategy to the Project Owner, Prime Designer and Utility Companies, and executing that strategy
  • Identification of Subsurface Utility Engineering requirements to properlyidentifyutility infrastructure,engageand manage the completion of such SUE investigations
  • Identification of utility conflicts with each contract through a thorough examination and understanding of existing utility infrastructure and proposed project scope of work
  • Creation and maintenance ofa UtilityConflict Matrix, Relocation Matrix, and utility relocation schedules
  • Identifyingthe need for, organizing and chairing utility coordination meetings, recording minutes and following up on action items
  • Participation in regularly scheduled project meetings
  • Calculation of utility relocation costs
  • Input into suggested utility relocation designsrequiredto clear conflicts and meet the needs of the contract design
  • Include CAD / Jr. Utility Coordinator in project responsibilities, delegate, manage and review work to be completed
  • Prepare proposals for RFPs, collaborating with SUE,CCTVand Utility Design groups as needed
  • Oversight / management of project finances, including review of monthly project invoices, identification of scope creep / additional budget requirements, writing of proposals to obtainadditionalbudget asrequired
  • Otherduties/responsibilitiesasrequired

Qualifications:
  • The successful candidate will bring with them a strong and reputable background in the Municipal,Highwayor Utility engineering industry
  • Candidates must have a strong knowledge of Utility Coordination practices, right-of-way management, utility design and construction,surveyingand SUE mapping
  • The candidate mustpossessexcellent presentation skills, and most importantly an outgoing personality andstrongdesireto succeed
  • Musthave 5 years' experience as a Project Manager
  • Validdriver's license and a reliable vehicleisrequired, as travel to meetings is oftenrequired
