Role Overview:

As our first dedicated University Recruiter, you'll be responsible for identifying, attracting, and hiring exceptional early-career talent across engineering, software, manufacturing, operations, and business functions. You'll serve as the face of CHAOS on campus, building relationships with students, professors, career centers, and student organizations while helping us establish a best-in-class university recruiting program.

This is more than a traditional campus recruiting role. You'll have the opportunity to shape how CHAOS Industries engages with emerging talent, influence where and how we recruit, and help build the pipelines that fuel our long-term growth. If you're energized by meeting ambitious students, creating meaningful partnerships, and connecting great people with challenging, mission-driven work, we'd love to talk!

Responsibilities:
  • Lead CHAOS' Industries university recruiting efforts, helping us identify and hire exceptional interns and new graduates across a variety of technical and business functions
  • Build strong relationships with universities, professors, career centers, student organizations, and research programs to expand our presence and reach
  • Partner closely with hiring managers and technical leaders to understand hiring needs and translate them into effective campus recruiting strategies
  • Represent CHAOS Industries at career fairs, campus events, technical competitions, networking events, and information sessions
  • Develop creative approaches to engage top student talent and share what makes CHAOS Industries a unique place to build a career
  • Own full-cycle recruiting for intern, co-op, and university hiring programs, from sourcing and screening through offer acceptance
  • Build and nurture talent communities that keep students engaged with CHAOS Industries throughout their academic journey
  • Help create an exceptional candidate experience that reflects our mission, values, and culture
  • Track recruiting performance, analyze hiring trends, and use data to continuously improve our programs and outcomes
  • Partner with the broader recruiting team to strengthen our employer brand and expand awareness of CHAOS Industries across key campuses

Minimum Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience successfully hiring technical talent in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • 2+ years of experience designing and managing internship, co-op, and/or new graduate recruiting programs
  • Strong relationship-building skills and a genuine passion for connecting with students and emerging talent
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and recruiting cycles
  • Strong communication skills and confidence representing an organization externally
  • A data-driven approach to recruiting and program improvement
  • Willingness to travel seasonally for campus recruiting events and conferences

Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience recruiting for engineering, software, hardware, manufacturing, aerospace, robotics, AI, autonomy, or defense-related organizations
  • Existing relationships with top engineering schools, student organizations, or university programs
  • Experience building university recruiting programs, employer branding initiatives, or campus engagement strategies
  • Familiarity with security clearance requirements or the defense technology ecosystem
  • Experience working in startup environments where resourcefulness and creativity matter
