What you'll accomplish with us
As a Senior Underwriter, you'll be at the core of our mission. Here are the main
responsibilities:
- Analyze complex life, health, and disability cases by applying established underwriting rules.
- Negotiate the best possible offer with reinsurers to ensure competitive, client-centered outcomes.
- Examine, assess, and propose solutions for more complex files.
- Act as a coach to less experienced underwriters.
- Collaborate with IT teams and Business Analysts as an expert in the implementation of a new underwriting automation system.
What could accelerate your success in this role
We're looking for someone who:
- Holds a bachelor's degree or any other relevant academic background.
- Brings 8+ years of experience in individual life underwriting or in a similar role.
- Is recognized for strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess medical and non-medical information to make accurate underwriting decisions.
- Stands out for their ability to negotiate, organize, and manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset, delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
Intermediate level of English required, as the individual will be expected to read, analyze, and interpret medical documents in English on a daily basis, as well as communicate regularly, both verbally and in writing, with English-speaking underwriters across Canada.

The typical hiring range for this position is between 88k and 110k CAD per year,
for 37.5 hours per week; the base salary offered may vary depending on
knowledge, skills, years of experience, and internal equity related to the role. At
