Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tekla Detailer to lead the detailing and modeling of structural steel fabrication projects from design through production. This role combines hands-on detailing with technical leadership, ensuring the delivery of accurate fabrication packages while establishing detailing standards, mentoring team members, and driving continuous improvement across the department.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience using Tekla Structures in a structural steel fabrication environment and is passionate about producing high-quality models, improving workflows, and supporting successful fabrication and field operations.

Responsibilities
  • Produce and review Tekla models, shop drawings, erection drawings, and fabrication packages for structural steel projects.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain company standards for Tekla modeling, detailing, and drawing production.
  • Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to detailers through training, quality reviews, and best practices.
  • Coordinate with engineers, Project Managers, estimators, fabrication personnel, and production teams to resolve detailing and constructability issues.
  • Review structural drawings, architectural plans, specifications, and engineering documents to ensure model accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform quality control reviews of models and fabrication drawings prior to release for production.
  • Support fabrication and field teams by responding to RFIs, revisions, and technical detailing questions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities to improve detailing workflows, automation, templates, and departmental efficiency.
  • Assist with workload planning, scheduling, and project prioritization to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, productivity, consistency, and overall detailing performance.


Requirements
  • 8+ years of structural steel detailing experience with advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures.
  • Experience working in a structural steel fabrication environment is required.
  • Demonstrated experience developing or improving Tekla standards, workflows, templates, or detailing procedures.
  • Previous experience leading, mentoring, or supervising structural steel detailers.
  • Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication, connection detailing, erection sequencing, and shop drawing production.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and engineering documents.
  • Experience coordinating with engineering, fabrication, production, and project management teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and meeting production schedules.
  • Advanced proficiency with Tekla Structures is required.
