Full Job Description
Your Role:

The Senior Technical Specialist is responsible for supporting business growth within their territory by providing customers with solutions to complex scientific, technical and regulatory requirements related to Contract Testing Services (CTS). The Senior Technical Specialist drives value by leveraging their extensive experience and expertise in viral clearance and biological safety testing. By acting as the primary field-based, scientific and regulatory contact, the position holder provides guidance to CTS customers, as well as to internal partners.

The job holder performs duties independently whilst working in collaboration with the wider commercial organization, Scientific & Regulatory Consultancy, Marketing, R&D, Operations, and Quality Assurance.

Scope of Responsibility:
  • Partners with Sales to identify new opportunities and provides scientific and regulatory that supports clients throughout the sales process to win new viral clearance business.
  • Monitors industry trends in the field of Contract Testing Services; identifies and shares innovation opportunities with Marketing; acts as the technical voice of customer to help develop business Strategy.
  • Acts as the advanced technical, regulatory and scientific subject matter expert for Contract Testing Services customers within a given territory.
  • Supports the adoption of new services by providing technical support in the field.
  • Acts as primary technical contact for specific growth accounts, providing input into relevant programs with ongoing requirements for scientific and regulatory support.
  • Provides technical training for account managers, increasing their awareness and ability to engage current and new clients.
  • Maintains high level of professional expertise through familiarity with current scientific literature, competitor products, and attending scientific seminars and meetings.
  • May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
  • Complies with company health and safety regulations and procedures.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in a Life Sciences relevant scientific field with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Alternatively, BS or MS in a Life Sciences relevant scientific field plus 7 years equivalent professional experience.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites within North America, up to 30% of time. Some international travel might be required for this position.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant advanced industry experience in a biologics manufacturing or viral clearance testing environment is required. Experience within a regulated GMP environment is essential.
  • Dependent on role level, relevant professional experience expected, ideally in biologics development and/or manufacturing, quality and technical operations within a global, multi-site environment.
  • Extensive client-facing experience with a demonstrated ability to influence teams and individuals is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English; an additional European language would be an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and client-facing skills: effective at communicating with clients and establishing strong working relationships.
  • Ability to work overtime or flexible hours on occasion to meet business requirements.


Pay Range for this position: $100,400-$192,400

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
