This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Technical Manager for our Austin, TX office. Be involved in projects with our Advisory Services, Demand Modeling and Forecasting teamand be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.
• Participate in regional and national opportunities to support projects in transportation, water, environment and other industries
• Apply rigorous data science and demand modeling principles to offer insights that help shape public policy and programs
• Work in a supportive team environment with a group of diverse, talented peers
• Create solutions to help transform cities and communities
Your Impact

Design, estimate, validate and apply travel demand models
  • Lead and collaborate on the development of demand modeling and related software
  • Analyze land use and demand data
  • Conduct statistical analyses of travel survey and passively-collected transportation data
  • Mentor, train and provide technical guidance to staff
  • Lead demand modeling tasks as part of multidisciplinary teams
  • Manage travel demand projects
  • Lead data analysis for grant applications, demand modeling and planning projects
  • Lead business development activities
  • Participate in internal and external professional development activities

Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree or Higher in Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Data Science, Urban Planning, Economics, Geography or related field
  • 10 years' proven experience managing travel demand modeling teams and projects
  • 10 years of experience designing, estimating and/or implementing travel demand models
  • Ability to deliver model results in written or oral format to clients and peer review panels
  • Demonstrated expertise with travel model software scripting
  • Demonstrated expertise with travel data analysis and visualization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience writing proposals and managing client accounts
  • Proficiency with demand modeling software (TransCAD, CUBE, EMME, and/or VISUM)
  • Proficiency with R scripting, Java, C#, or similar programming languages
  • Proficiency with Geographical Information Software use and programming

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $129,600 - $174,900

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
