DescriptionRole Overview The Senior Technical Designer will work closely with the Designers to interpret and translate the brand vision into technical specifications for the production of garments and provide technical support to designer. Review and give direction regarding specs, fit, construction and grading issues to vendors. Daily communication with team and vendors to ensure the accurate execution of samples throughout the development process.
Responsibilities - Support in the development and maintenance of technical specification packages for garments from 1st proto to production.
- Lead the development and maintenance of technical package for a designated product/categories as determined by the senior designer.
- Participate in fit sessions taking initiative as the expert in fit. Promptly communicate changes needed to achieve correct fit, maintain fit consistency, and fulfill the style intent of the design.
- Ensure accurate labeling and systematic storing of samples following line review.
- Review incoming samples, verifying execution against requested specification, styling, and construction.
- Prepare product for fit sessions and take detailed, accurate notes during fit sessions.
- Support data and product gathering for the assessment of return rate issues. Maintain current on trends especially in fit and styling to enhance knowledge.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in fashion design.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in garment manufacturing, product development, and specification development.
- Intimates' tech design experience.
- Must be very detail oriented, collaborative, and can work in a fast paced, dead-line oriented environment.
- Must have knowledge of apparel construction and garment specs.
- Knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, fit, and grading.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with Web PDM and Microsoft Office Word, Outlook & Excel.
