The Tiffany Workshop (TWS) in Pelham, NY is known throughout the world for its fine jewelry and illustrious collections that symbolize the essence of distinctive craftsmanship, quality, timeless beauty, and expressions of joy. We are seeking a highly skilled jewelry expert, a Technical Jewelry Manager, to provide technical leadership and serve as a key liaison between cross-functional partners. This role is instrumental in enhancing day-to-day operations to meet the company's High Jewelry standards - supporting the creation of complex and innovative pieces while aligning with broader business needs.

As a strategic partner to the Director, the Manager will support the Workshop in the development and production of High Jewelry (HJ) and Fine Jewelry (FJ) collections. The Manager will lead efforts during the design and industrialization phases, ensuring accurate aesthetic translation, technical feasibility, and the highest standards of quality and execution.

Key Accountabilities

Technical Development:
  • Assess product designs to ensure project viability (technical feasibility, design/volume translation, quality), taking into consideration alternative processes and specific tooling solutions based on industry expertise.
  • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships to identify strengths and gaps in the development processes, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate on the allocation of new products on technical aspects.
  • Direct Craft on technical documentation, aesthetic transposition, and industrialization processes.
  • Follow-up of product development and reporting. Development and harmonization of technical expertise product in line with the industrial strategy.
  • Work closely with operations managers to define estimates, set priorities, and allocate workloads, ensuring deadlines and cost targets are consistently met.
  • Maintain and develop traditional techniques, know-how, and the ethics of parts by integrating new methods.
  • Responsible for the conception and/or reproducibility of all pieces produced in the workshop.
  • Monitor all development activities and provide day-to-day support to teams, ensuring the technical success of the projects.

Production Technical Support:
  • Collaborate on the definition of manufacturing processes and specifications.
  • Production monitoring and reporting.
  • Identify and assess technical risks related to supply and manufacturing.
  • Ensure smooth technical coordination with Setters, Polishers, CAD, Quality Control, and other partners, establishing technical QC to prevent any issues.
  • Provide training and guidance to teams to achieve target quality standards, lead times and operational excellence.

Quality Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Responsible for technical decision-making and ensuring highest quality standards for all pieces produced: quality control of stones, work-in-progress, and finished products.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Development and harmonization of technical expertise in line with the industrial strategy.
  • Serve as a critical liaison across departments, coordinating projects between design, CAD development, jewelry, setting and polishing.

Required Qualifications
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in a High Jewelry environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation and strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Flexible, independent, proactive self-starter with the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to be flexible and manage changing priorities; must have a strong sense of time management.
  • Proven experience in team leadership and managing sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Strong technical acumen with a deep understanding of product development, aesthetics, harmony, proportion, and manufacturing processes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of High Jewelry traditions, standards, and industry codes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • CAD knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficiency in PC applications - Microsoft Office (Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

The hiring range for this position ranges from $130,000 - $160,000. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates' relevant skills and experience.
