Job DescriptionIn collaboration with the Manager, Technical Records, the Senior Technical Data Controller acts as a subject matter expert and resource for the Technical Records team. The incumbent ensures the accuracy, integrity, and regulatory compliance of aircraft, engine, and APU maintenance records within the company's electronic tracking systems while providing coaching, training, and technical support to team members.
Responsibilities- Ensure all maintenance records comply with Transport Canada regulations, company procedures, and applicable industry standards.
- Perform quality audits and validations of technical data related to aircraft, engines, APUs, and components to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Verify the accomplishment of modifications, inspections, replacements, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, and manufacturer recommendations.
- Audit repetitive inspections and the tracking of life-limited and time-controlled components.
- Prepare, review, and validate documentation demonstrating traceability and status of life-limited parts installed on aircraft or major assemblies, including engines, APUs, landing gear, and thrust reversers.
- Provide training, coaching, and troubleshooting support to Technical Data Controllers.
- Respond to inquiries related to technical records and participate in aircraft lease return, aircraft sale, and aircraft import documentation reviews and audits.
- Perform Technical Data Controller duties as required to support operational needs.
Qualifications- High school diploma.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Technical Data Controller in the aviation industry, including experience with aviation-related computerized maintenance tracking systems.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian aviation regulations, standards, and maintenance compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance control documentation and manufacturer maintenance programs.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to support and coach team members.
- Excellent proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and demonstrated ability to use collaborative digital tools and AI technologies (e.g., Copilot). Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Oral and written fluency in French and English*
A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and internationally.
