Description

The Senior Associate Technical Consultant will provide industry leading expertise to complex projects. This position will be responsible for providing project technical oversight, technical expertise and leading technical design solutions. This industry leader will drive solutions and technologies by providing consulting services for a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Direct client requests and offer guidance in the understanding and execution of complex, non-traditional systems.
  • Manage implementation and validatation of internal standards and technical specifications related to the area(s) of expertise.
  • Responsible for strategic insight for the firm's ability to market technical services to clients. Lead efforts to increase the firm's market share for consulting services in the chosen area(s) of technology by securing additional projects and clients.
  • Oversee key pursuits in chosen area(s) of technology.
  • Manage relationships with existing clients, customers and contractors and develop new business opportunities.
  • Approve go/no-go decisions for specific pursuits in chosen area(s) of technology.
  • Direct proposal efforts and requests for qualifications to obtain consulting assignments in chosen area(s) of technology to achieve stated targets and budgets and standards for financial performance. Present project budgets and estimates.
  • Present to technical societies related to the area(s) of expertise by working group membership, development of industry standards and publishing and presenting technical papers.
  • Develop and deliver training classes to share technical knowledge and expertise.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to staff.
  • Ensure compliance with company site safety policies.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff.
  • Responsible for QA/QC process adherence.
  • Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering. The Engineering degree shall be appropriately aligned with the chosen area(s) of expertise and 7 years of applicable experience required. Or,
  • Master Degree in Engineering. The Engineering degree shall be appropriately aligned with the chosen area(s) of expertise and 6 years of applicable experience required. Or,
  • PhD in Engineering. The Engineering degree shall be appropriately aligned with the chosen area(s) of expertise and 4 years of applicable experience required.
  • Recognized internally and externally as a technical resource for a process, equipment or technology.
  • Demonstrated network of external colleagues and vendors within their chosen area(s) of expertise.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of state-of-the-art technology applied to their chosen area(s) of expertise.
  • Expert computer skills using industry relevant software.
  • Expert facilitation, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management and clients.
  • Expert written and oral communications skills, to include Blue Quill award, Toastmasters program and Dialogue training.
  • Expert critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
  • Capable of independently solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with existing clients and develop business opportunities with new and existing clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with equipment vendors.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with contractors, co-workers, and other professionals.
  • The ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
  • Canada Professional Engineer required.
