Job Description:Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated
Senior TCMS Engineer to join our Train Control & Management System (TCMS) engineering team. The successful candidate will support the design, development, integration, testing, and commissioning of TCMS systems, working closely with system engineers, software developers, validation engineers, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Accountabilities Main tasks & the responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Analyze and understand TCMS system requirements, ensuring consistency, completeness, and traceability throughout the development lifecycle.
- Participate and contribute to technical meetings with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to support the definition and resolution of technical issues.
- Support the design and development activities of TCMS software solutions for railway applications.
- Software integration activities and onboard integration testing on railway vehicles.
- Commissioning and site acceptance activities, deployment and validation of TCMS functionalities in the field.
- Analyze field returns, operational issues, and customer feedback to identify root causes and support corrective actions.
- Collaborate with the engineering team in troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving software and system-related issues.
- Support verification and validation activities, including laboratory, integration, and vehicle testing.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, test reports, and engineering deliverables according to company processes and project requirements.
Required Skills/ Knowledge- 5+ years of experience in TCMS engineering.
- Master's Degree or Engineering degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or other relevant fields.
- Experience with software engineering principles and embedded systems development.
- Understanding of system engineering processes, requirements management, and software lifecycle activities.
- Experience with programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Provide technical guidance and review engineering deliverables while demonstrating strong self-management, independence, and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and international teams.
- Good communication skills and willingness to participate in technical discussions with different stakeholders.
Desired Skills/ Knowledge- Previous experience in railway, transportation, or industrial automation projects.
- Knowledge of TCMS architectures and train communication networks.
- Knowledge of railway standards and onboard vehicle integration activities.
- Experience with system integration, commissioning, or troubleshooting of complex systems.
- Familiarity with model-based development tools such as MATLAB/Simulink.
- Availability for occasional national and international business travel.
Education/Qualifications - Master's Degree or Engineering degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or other relevant fields.

The salary range for this position is $ 98,000 to $ 163,100 per year. Final pay is determined by the candidate's experience, skillset and ability level, internal equity and location.
