Senior Tax Manager- (US- Rockville, Hybrid)

Primary Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Tax Principal, the Senior Manager will...

  • Review of tax returns including complex tax returns which may consist of consolidated or multi-state business returns, complex pass-through entities (including tiered partnerships), and complex individuals.
  • Prepare or review income tax provisions.
  • Ability, experience, and confidence to sign tax returns with supervision of the principal.
  • Identify and research tax technical topics, compliance issues, and tax planning opportunities.
  • Work with clients to gather information, manage flow of projects, and ensure timely delivery of engagements to clients.
  • Oversee the efforts of multiple client engagements, including supervising tax planning and business succession planning engagements with the ability to manage to budget
  • Tax return compliance review including forms 1040, 1120S, 1065, and 1041
  • Consult with partners, business and individual tax clients on various matters
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key client sponsors and growing client base.
  • Develop people through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring all levels of staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for all levels of staff.
  • Assist principal and senior leaders with generating new business opportunities and building client networks and relationships.
  • Understand our service offerings and actively identify opportunities to better serve clients with our comprehensive solutions.
  • Ensure professional development through ongoing education
  • Provide thought leadership and insightful recommendations surrounding a broad range of complex issues by leveraging expertise and experience.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 9+ years current public accounting experience.
  • 5+ years' experience leading teams, coaching, and mentoring staff.
  • 4+ years' experience with tax compliance including review of Form 1040, 1120-S and 1065 tax returns
  • CPA or EA certification
  • Proficiency with computerized tax software & Microsoft Office.
  • Strong client rapport & project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
  • Strong leadership, recruiting, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is Min: $161,941.17- Mid: $179,074.22- Max: $193,722.81. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on several factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. Compensation ranges for roles in our Government Services pillar are determined by contract with the specific government agency Sikich is servicing.
