Corporate Senior Tax Manager to join our team on a hybrid work schedule at the Global Headquarters in East Aurora, NY. We are a dynamic manufacturer providing solutions for the aviation and aerospace market in commercial air transport, business/private jet, and military spaces.
Reporting to the Corporate Tax Director, the Senior Tax Manager serves as an essential part of the Company's tax function. This position will work with the other members of the corporate tax department as well as divisional management to ensure the accurate and timely completion of the Company's tax provisions and compliance, as well as assist with various other special projects. We're a global company, so you'll have exposure to multiple U.S. and foreign business units, and work with a cross-functional team of dedicated professionals.

What You'll Do: - Manage and assist with the preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provision calculations prepared in accordance with ASC 740
- Review / prepare tax account reconciliations, deferred tax asset and liability calculations, effective tax rate calculations, and tax disclosures.
- Support preparation of tax-related information included in SEC filings, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q.
- Partner with the Financial Reporting and SEC Reporting teams to ensure accurate and timely tax disclosures.
- Manage the company's federal, state, local, and international tax compliance processes.
- Manage and assist with the preparation and review of corporate income tax calculations, returns, estimated tax payments, extensions, and related filings.
- Develop and execute tax planning strategies aligned with the company's business objectives and risk tolerance.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the organization.
- Coordinate federal, state, local, and international tax audits, inquiries, and examinations.
- Review tax implications of business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, investments, financing arrangements, and other strategic initiatives.
- Evaluate tax positions, uncertain tax positions, and related disclosures in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Maintain and enhance tax processes, policies, documentation, and internal controls.
- Support compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and participate in tax-related control testing and remediation efforts.
- Identify opportunities to improve tax processes through automation, technology, and data analytics.
- Prepare tax forecasts, cash tax projections, effective tax rate analyses, and other management reporting.
- Collaborate with Legal, Treasury, Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Payroll, and business-unit leadership on tax matters.
- Review tax research, technical memoranda, and recommendations prepared by internal or external tax professionals.
- Manage, mentor, and develop tax staff and coordinate work across internal and external teams.
- Establish timelines and monitor deliverables to ensure compliance with reporting deadlines.
- Communicate complex tax matters, risks, and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Ensure the organization's tax practices comply with applicable federal, state, local, and international laws and regulations.
- Support the company's tax risk management and governance framework.
What You'll Bring: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting; CPA certification is required
- Minimum of 10-15 years of tax experience working in public accounting and/or a Corporate Tax Department; Big 4 or large regional firm experience strongly preferred
- Extensive experience with the application of ASC 740
- Significant experience with U.S. Federal and multi-state corporate tax compliance
- Experience with public company 10-K/Q reporting and disclosures; international tax experience preferred
- Experience working with tax compliance software; experience working with tax provision software preferred
- Experience working with fixed asset depreciation software
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to research, analyze and document tax positions based on authoritative guidance
- Demonstrated hands-on approach and success working in a team environment, including mentorship of tax professionals
- Ability to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and effectively complete multiple projects concurrently
- Flexibility to work some overtime throughout the year to meet reporting and compliance deadlines
Compensation & Benefits: - Base salary: $150,000 - $175,000, influenced by several factors including experience, skill set, education, certifications, market conditions, and business needs.
