Position Summary

The Senior Tax Consultant provides advanced consulting support for real estate and business personal property assessment reviews, leads portions of appeals, mentors junior team members, and partners with managers to help clients achieve maximum tax savings through highquality state and local tax consulting services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead assessment reviews and represent clients during appeals and hearings with taxing authorities.

  • Prepare, review, and present analyses supporting DMAs positions; deliver periodic status updates and Reports of Findings to clients.

  • Apply DMA valuation models for property valuation and fixedasset reconciliation/classification; identify exemptions and abatements; quantify potential taxsavings opportunities.

  • Conduct onsite inspections of client facilities (plants and operations).

  • Assist business development by identifying opportunities, scoping work, and contributing to proposals for new and prospective clients.

  • Research, collect, and populate DMAs review management system with cases, assessment details, property/fixedasset data, and jurisdictional information.

  • Support production and invoicing for assigned matters and ensure timely, accurate deliverables.

  • Track and monitor jurisdictional deadlines related to return filings, audits, appeals, protests, bill mailings, and taxpayment dates.

  • Monitor market activity, industry trends, and state and local tax developments in assigned geographies.

  • Collaborate with Consultants, Managers, and Directors; handle routine and intermediate matters independently; coach Analysts and Associates.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

  • 3 35 years of professional experience; property tax, valuation, or accounting preferred.

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Strong verbal and written communication; demonstrated problemsolving skills.

  • Solid organizational, research, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Valid drivers license.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work Schedule: Regular, 40 hours/week
