Full Job Description
Position Purpose

Under limited supervision, will serve as a senior strategic partner to the organization, ensuring alignment of strategic business objectives with policies and practices that lead to highly effective leadership behaviors and an excellent employee experience.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead, facilitate and continuously enhance employee learning and development programs. Develop new training content and learning opportunities to expand the organization's learning catalog and support evolving employee and business development needs.
  • Champion and advance a strengths-based culture by integrating CliftonStrengths into employee, team and leadership development. Facilitate CliftonStrengths workshops and equip employees and leaders to apply their strengths in meaningful ways. Identify opportunities to embed strengths-based practices throughout the employee experience.
  • Manage and continuously enhance RLI U, the company's corporate learning university, by curating and expanding relevant learning content, driving employee engagement and utilization, and creating learning campaigns that support professional and leadership development.
  • Leverage Workday Learning platform to deliver accessible learning and support organization's objective of developing employees to positively impact the talent pipeline at all levels.
  • Conduct employee and organizational surveys to assess various areas including leadership and supervisory effectiveness and employee morale and effectiveness.
  • Work collaboratively with talent acquisition and total rewards functions to execute talent strategies that meet ongoing and future business needs.
  • Support the planning, implementation and maintenance of performance management processes.
  • Provide coaching and support to "people managers" on matters such as individual development plans, performance improvement, job changes and promotions, employee relations and terminations.
  • Continually evaluate and contribute to developing and improving processes, systems and tools to support talent management initiatives.
  • Respond timely to employee and manager questions related to company policies, guidelines and processes.
  • Conduct workplace investigations with empathy and fairness and provide guidance and recommendations for fair and equitable problem resolution to leadership.
  • Manage special projects when needed.

Education & Experience

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, organizational communication, or in a related field
  • 4+ years of related experience
  • [OR] equivalent level of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies

  • Demonstrates excellent organization and prioritization skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide direction to managers in the areas of employee relations, performance management, learning and development, employee engagement, corporate policies and guidelines, employment processes and HR systems.
  • Considerable knowledge of employee relations and ability to manage workplace investigations.
  • Effectively applies talent management processes and tools to support strategic business objectives.
  • Ability to generate innovative solutions to complex issues within training and development.
  • Ability to design, develop and facilitate engaging leadership and employee development workshops that build practical skills and support individual, team and organizational effectiveness.
  • Demonstrates strong conflict resolution and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive situations, facilitate productive conversations and help managers and employees work toward effective solutions.
  • Ability to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management on matters concerning employee relations, training & development, and learning management.


Compensation Overview
The base salary range for the position is listed below. Please note that the base salary is only one component of our robust total rewards package at RLI. The salary offered will take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications/credentials, talent availability & specialization, as well as business needs. The below range may be modified in the future.

Base Pay Range
$73,839.00 - $105,589.00
