Opportunity Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Systems Quality Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team. This role combines system-level validation of complex semiconductor test systems with the development of scalable automation solutions that improve product quality, reliability, and engineering efficiency.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of hardware, software, embedded systems, and system integration, along with the ability to build and enhance automated test solutions. You will work closely with Software, Hardware, Electrical, Mechanical, Embedded, Manufacturing, and Product Management teams to ensure Teradyne products meet the highest standards of functionality, performance, reliability, security, and customer satisfaction.

As a Sr. Systems Quality Engineer, you will:

System Validation & Integration

  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of system-level test strategies for complex semiconductor test and automation platforms.

  • Validate end-to-end product functionality across software, hardware, embedded systems, networking, and mechanical components.

  • Develop test scenarios that reflect real-world customer workflows, operating conditions, and product usage.

  • Support system integration activities, including hardware bring-up, subsystem validation, and troubleshooting of integrated solutions.

  • Perform root cause analysis across software, hardware, embedded, electrical, and mechanical domains to isolate and resolve complex issues.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify quality risks early and influence design decisions that improve testability, reliability, and maintainability.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Software, Hardware, Embedded, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Product Management teams throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Serve as a technical quality advocate, providing guidance on design-for-testability and system validation strategies.


Metrics, Analysis & Continuous Improvement

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret quality and test metrics.

  • Develop dashboards and reporting mechanisms that provide visibility into product health and validation progress.

  • 10+ years of experience in quality engineering, systems engineering, product validation, test engineering, or a related field.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline

  • Strong experience validating complex integrated systems consisting of software, hardware, embedded, electrical, and mechanical components.

  • Experience within semiconductor test, automation, robotics, industrial systems, manufacturing systems, or other complex engineering environments.

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C#, C++, or Python.

  • Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies.

  • Experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and test infrastructure.

  • Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent platforms.


  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex root cause analysis across multiple engineering disciplines.

  • Experience working within Agile development environments using tools such as Jira.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining a strong customer focus.

  • Experience working with embedded systems, hardware interfaces, sensors, controllers, and system communications.

  • Knowledge of design-for-testability (DFT), system reliability, and validation methodologies.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this role is $126,900-207,400. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

Incentive Plan:

This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
