Job Description

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to serve as the technical leader for one or more interdisciplinary teams developing next-generation thermal-imaging products. This role requires broad knowledge of infrared imaging systems, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to guide teams through all phases of product development. As the primary technical authority, the Systems Engineer defines, shapes, and delivers state-of-the-art thermal-imaging solutions. Candidates with experience spanning both design and manufacturing will be especially strong fits.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Define and manage system requirements, ensuring final designs meet all specifications.
  • Conduct and document market research and system-level trade studies to optimize architecture and propose innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Identify and manage technical risks; integrate and test product designs; troubleshoot and resolve unexpected issues.
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering, production, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure technical milestones are achieved.
  • Generate and maintain product documentation, including decisions, results, lessons learned, and best practices.
  • Partner with fellow systems engineers through peer reviews, process improvement efforts, and coaching or training activities.


Qualifications

  • Strong initiative and drive, with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and lead by example on complex development programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to generate and oversee comprehensive design documentation.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving expertise and a track record of innovative technical solutions.
  • Prior Systems Engineering experience is highly advantageous; experience in product development is also valuable.
  • Thermal imaging experience is not required, but the ability to learn quickly is essential. Familiarity with optics, sensors, electronics, mechanical design, software development, or advanced signal processing is a strong plus.
  • Ability to work onsite as needed to lead project teams.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for customer visits, supplier meetings, tradeshows, or company events.
  • No direct reports, but must excel at leading cross-functional development teams and providing technical oversight.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.


Salary Range:
$113,600.00-$151,400.000
