About The Role

Senior Systems Engineer

SEA Canada | Ottawa, ON (Onsite)

SEA Canada is looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our Ottawa-based engineering team. This is a hands-on, high-impact role supporting advanced defence and security products throughout their lifecycle, from concept through in-service support. You'll work as part of a multi-disciplinary, international team, collaborating closely with colleagues in Canada and the UK.

The Role

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will take technical responsibility for systems engineering activities supporting SEA products in the Canadian market. You will contribute to system design, requirements management, integration, verification and validation, and customer support, while also playing a key role in business development and bid activities.

This position involves working with sensitive information; successful candidates must be eligible to obtain a Canadian security clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage system requirements across the full engineering lifecycle, ensuring traceability, configuration control, and verification & validation
  • Develop system design specifications, analyses, and supporting technical documentation using structured systems engineering methodologies
  • Lead and coordinate engineering work packages, including planning, execution, and delivery to cost, quality, and schedule
  • Support system integration, testing, qualification, and issue resolution activities
  • Provide technical input to bids, proposals, and business development activities, including effort estimation
  • Interface directly with internal stakeholders, UK-based engineering teams, and external customers
  • Prepare and deliver technical documentation and presentations for both technical and senior management audiences
  • Support in-service products with system information, handbooks, and reliability data
  • Contribute to the evaluation and adoption of new technologies, tools, and engineering methods
  • Actively promote and demonstrate SEA's environmental, health & safety values at all times

What We're Looking For

  • Strong experience in systems engineering within complex, multi-disciplinary environments
  • Proven capability in requirements management, system analysis, integration, and V&V
  • Confidence leading technical work packages and coordinating across engineering disciplines
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
  • Experience working with customers and supporting bid or proposal activities
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
