Responsibilities This position with Peraton Labs presents an opportunity for candidates that are looking to work on challenging and innovative technology across diverse areas in communications network standards.The candidate will be responsible for standards and requirements development for the support of priority services in evolving telecommunications networks.
Expectations:
- Candidate should be knowledgeable of fixed / mobile access networks, core networks, and 4G/5G/6G technologies including Long Term Evolution (LTE), Radio Access Network (RAN), Wi-Fi, Cable, and Fiber. Candidate should have experience with telecommunications services and features (e.g., voice, video, data, and messaging) and the standards protocols used to support these services and features such as IP, IMS, and SIP signaling.
- In addition, he/she should have specialized technical expertise in priority services (e.g., National Security Emergency Preparedness (NSEP), Government Emergency Telecommunications Service (GETS), Wireless Priority Service (WPS), Next Generation Network Priority Services (NGN-PS)).
- He/she should have experience in standards development in one or more major standards organization (e.g., 3GPP, ATIS), including experience in dealing with participants from service providers and equipment vendors.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 years of experience with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with PhD
- Leadership role in national standards and international standards organizations (e.g., 3GPP, ATIS, IEEE)
- Expert knowledge in IMS Core Network, LTE, 5G, EPC, RAN, Wi-Fi architecture, requirements, protocols, and detailed message specifications and associated requirements/protocols
- Must have 5+ years of experience in attending and presenting technical contributions in one or more of the following standards bodies: 3GPP, ATIS, IETF, IEEE, ITU-T, and Wireless Broadband Alliance
- Must have held lead editorship position or role in development of international and national standards/specifications
- Must be a recognized expert in development of (have authored, contributed to, or participated actively in open industry discussions) service, network, and protocol requirements for NGN, LTE/5G, and various access technologies, e.g., LTE, Wi-Fi
- Significant travel required to attend national and international standards meetings
- Strong written and spoken communications/presentation skills

Target Salary Range$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individuals experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
