Summary: The position of Senior System Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the organization's IT infrastructure both on-premises and in the cloud to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
Essential Responsibilities:- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available IT infrastructure in a hybrid virtual environment.
- Lead system architecture decisions, including servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud platforms
- Plan and execute system upgrades including testing, migrations, and new technology deployments around tight maintenance windows
- Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, documentation, and best practices
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies are in place and tested
- Monitor systems performance, capacity, and reliability; troubleshoot and implement improvements proactively
- Act as escalation point for complex technical issues for both IT and other business teams
- Reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency through automation and standardization
- Integrate systems and workflows across platforms and services
- Support cloud adoption strategies, including hybrid environments and migrations
- Optimize cloud costs, performance, and scalability
- Work closely with IT leadership, developers, network engineers, and business stakeholders
- Lead or participate in infrastructure-related projects and initiatives
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior administrators and engineers
- Contribute to long-term IT strategy and roadmap planning
