Senior Systems Engineer Location: On-site in Bradenton, FL Base Salary Rate: $115,247 - $135,585 per year Job type: Full-time position About This Role This Systems Engineering role leads development efforts for embedded firmware and software-controlled life safety systems, including fire detection, notification, control, communications, and connected products. The role translates product needs into clear system and sub-system requirements while ensuring alignment across architecture, design, verification, validation, and production readiness. The candidate will develop systems engineering work products, identify requirement and interface risks, coordinate cross-functional technical inputs, support safety and failure mode analysis, and help improve standard work, tools, and repeatable engineering practices across multiple projects in a global team environment. Key Responsibilities 34; Develop and maintain system requirements for fire alarm systems and associated equipment 34; Analyze, decompose, document, and manage system and safety-critical requirements 34; Drive requirements decomposition aligned to system architecture and technical trade studies 34; Define system boundaries, inputs/outputs, data flows, and processing needs 34; Establish requirements based on VoC sessions, quality incident tickets, and technology improvements. 34; Plan and coordinate verification/validation activities to ensure requirements coverage 34; Lead, facilitate and contribute to design, DFMEA, RRCA, and product safety reviews 34; Own assigned engineering workstreams across multiple projects or disciplines 34; Perform difficult or complex engineering activities and create standard works for common procedures. 34; Manage significant work packages within complex engineering projects 34; Support customer documentation development. Basic Qualifications 34; Bachelor2s degree in Engineering 34; 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, or 8+ years of experience in an engineering domain such as electrical engineering, embedded firmware, software, product development, or safety-critical systems Preferred Qualifications 34; Master2s degree in Systems, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering 34; ASEP/CSEP, or equivalent systems engineering certification 34; Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, DOORS, Rhapsody, Visio, or equivalent engineering lifecycle tools 34; Demonstrated experience applying system architecture, UML/SysML, DFMEA, Pugh Matrix, requirements management, QFD, and verification traceability 34; Experience creating or improving standard work, engineering procedures, templates, or process guidance 34; Knowledge of KGS organization, processes, tools, programs, or systems is strongly preferred 34; Experience in the Fire Protection industry Compensation and Benefits Individuals may be eligible for an annual performance bonus based on both individual and company2s performance.
