Full Job Description
This position is for a critical member of our Advanced Surgical division's R&D team, based in Denver, CO. The engineer will have immediate opportunities to contribute to new product development with a focus on minimally invasive surgical technologies designed to deliver real benefits to surgeons, hospitals and their patients.

Advanced Surgical products include:

  • Advanced insufflation systems
  • Advanced energy systems
  • Advanced smoke management systems
  • Laparoscopic surgical instruments


Responsibilities:
  • Acts as a technical leader responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of medium-sized complex systems, from initial conception and requirements definition to design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance, ensuring the system meets all functional and performance specifications while providing strategic direction and technical expertise to cross-functional teams.
  • System Architecture & Design: Contribute to the development of system architecture, defining system interfaces, components, and overall system design to optimize functionality and performance.
  • Requirements Analysis: Elicit, analyze, and document system requirements, ensuring they are clearly defined, verifiable/validatable, and aligned with project goals.
  • System Integration: Oversee the integration of various system components, managing interfaces and dependencies to ensure seamless system operation.
  • Verification & Validation: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to verify system functionality against requirements and validate overall system performance.
  • Project Management: Contribute to project planning, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering teams, and customers, to communicate technical details and manage expectations.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain technical documentation including system specifications, design documents, and user guides.


Job Complexity and Supervision:
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (may act as Team Lead).

Required Qualifications:

Disclosure as required by applicable law, the annual salary range for this position is $104,134- $163,640. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level. The salary range is CONMED's good faith belief at the time of this posting.
