Senior Systems Engineer

Position Description:

Banner Defense is looking for a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will utilize your expertise in mission/software assurance, system architecture, and interface design. The selected candidate will ensure the reliability, security, and quality of hardware/software systems, contribute to architectural decisions, and design robust interfaces for seamless integration across MDS platforms.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in hardware/software engineering activities to include mission/software assurance, code reviews, static analysis, testing, and engineering reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Provide input to programs on software architectures that are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to software quality, security, and performance.
  • Ensure hardware/software engineering/assurance processes are acceptable and reports are assessed.
  • Provide technical guidance assessing objective evidence for hardware/software engineering.
  • Collaborate with platform engineers, product leads, mission users, and government leadership to ensure AI efforts remain technically grounded and operationally relevant.
  • Stay current on rapid changes in the AI ecosystem and provide informed recommendations on emerging tools and practices.
